Description:
If I were to create a fragrance for the God of Fire, I wouldn't want to gloss over it lightly with simple flames. What I want to depict is the furnace that remains a glowing dark red even after the fire has died out.
Hephaestus is perhaps the least god-like among the Olympian deities. While other gods stand atop the sky, the ocean, and the battlefield, he remains underground. His companions are not pristine white marble, but soot, an anvil, and a pair of hands that can never be truly washed clean. Therefore, "Eternal Forge" begins with kerosene. This is what truly draws me to Hephaestus: he was once cast down from Olympus, mocked, and despised. Yet in the end, the very weapons, armor, and divine artifacts held by the gods were born, one by one, from his furnace. He did not demand the world's recognition; he simply returned to his anvil and struck another blow.
HEPHAESTUS: Eternal Forge
Some fires burn for destruction,
while his fire burns for creation.
ICP — Imagine Creating Perfume
If a story could be smelled, what would it scent like? Perhaps the damp stone walls of a city after rain, the unpainted wind within a painting, the lingering resonance hanging in the air after a piece of music ends, or perhaps a memory that suddenly resurfaces years later. These fleeting, unpreservable moments became the genesis of ICP's creation.
We are a perfume house centred around imagination, acting much like a travelling author, wandering between cities, art, culture, music, architecture, and literature, bringing back the stories and emotions encountered along the way, and rewriting them through scent.
Thus, we rarely just ask: "What does this perfume smell like, and what are its notes?" Instead, we want to know: "What does it make you think of?"
Because we believe that what truly completes a perfume is not just the perfumer, but also the person who happens to catch its scent. The exact same fragrance might remind someone of a city they have never visited, prompt another to recall someone they haven't seen in a long time, or allow someone to catch a glimpse of another side of themselves within it.
And so, perfume is no longer just perfume; It begins to hold a story.
If you were to imagine ICP as a place, we hope it resembles a library of scents, where every fragrance is a book waiting to be opened. Some are written about travel, some collect myths, some originate from paintings, music, and history, while others record emotions so elusive even we struggle to put them into words. And what we do is simply write the very first page using scent. The rest of the story is left for your imagination to complete.
In the future, ICP will continue to walk among different countries and cultures, To feel, to explore, and to leave behind our own olfactory footprints. Because there are still too many stories in this world Waiting to be smelled.
Perfume is made complete by imagination.
