Translating amber from fantasy to reality, this scent utilizes wild labdanum and rare Tahitian vanilla to seek balance between texture and imagery. It captures the Portuguese concept of "saudade"—that deep, bittersweet longing for something that has faded away. A fragrance existing in the space between reality and illusion, wholeness and fragmentation.

Apoteker Tepe seeks to explore the profound connection between fragrance and human emotion, reintroducing rare, antique, and unique materials that are often avoided in large-scale commercial perfumery due to high costs, labor-intensive production, and unpredictability. The brand prides itself on its "inefficiency"—hand-blending and personally sourcing materials. This is not a marketing ploy, but a commitment to preserving memories and meanings that cannot be replicated in the age of digital and industrial quantification.
Founder Holladay Saltz, with a background in design and academic research (formerly at NYU), was inspired by A Natural History of the Senses to pursue olfactory studies. After training at Le Labo in New York, she founded the brand in 2014. Holladay guided the brand from 2014–2018. In 2022, Nick Nilsson, founder of Pineward and a devoted fan of the brand, took over, dedicating himself to bringing these masterful creations back to the public while honoring Holladay’s original creative vision.
